STEP 1 – Backup Recorder Settings and Users
First backup the original server’s settings.
Versadial recommends you create a separate folder to store backed up settings and files. Either a network drive, or on the C drive, such as C:\Versadial Files\
Adutante Backup Steps:
- Log into Adutante with administrator access: (default path: https://localhost:8443/portal/)
- General Administration
- Tools > Backups
- click "Schedule Backup"
- Note: You may want to copy the backup to a different folder, such as C:\Versadial Files\Adutante
- Take note of the backup folder location, browse to this location to copy/save in another folder
- Select "Immediately" > Schedule
- Back up will begin, depending on the size of your data, this may take a few moments.
- Hit browser REFRESH button. Then go back to Tools > Backups
- Your backup should now be listed.

Adutante Backup Continued:
- Two files must be manually backed up.
- Default location is: C:\Versadial\Adutante\applications\adutante\config
- Copy the following two files to a safe and known location, such as C:\Versadial Files\Adutante
- adutante.properties - Security, Email, and other settings
- cti.properties - Cisco BIB configurations
VSLogger Settings Backup:
- Two folders within the VSLogger installation must be manually backed up.
- Default location: C:\ProgramData\Adutante\vslogger\
- Copy the contents of VSLogger *data* and *cert* folder to a safe and known location, such as C:\Versadial Files\Vslogger
- Note: "Cert" folder will only be available if you previously created your own SSL certificate.
STEP 2 – Download and Install
Sign in at https://www.adutante.com/portal/
The login ID/password should have been sent to you. If you need it changed, please contact sales@versadial.com.
- Go to: Infostore module / Select STORES / Controlled Document Stores / Customers - Info Store/ Downloads
- Download “Versadial Software Distribution”…
- And (if not already installed from a prior 4.7 version)
- Stop the following services (Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services):
- Adutante
- Versadial VSLogger Connection Service
- Versadial VSLogger Recording Service
- Once services are properly Stopped. Un-install Adutante and VSLogger. The software can be uninstalled via Windows standard Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel.
- During uninstall, you may accept all defaults.
- Do not manually delete Adutante or VSLogger's folders
- RENAME the Adutante folder - By renaming, you preserve your old data, during the installation of the software, Adutante will create and install a new folder, if you fail to rename the Adutante folder, you risk your old data being written over. Default Adutante folder: C:\Versadial\Adutante - Rename to Adutante.bak. The VSLogger installation folder does not need to be renamed
- Note: The Windows un-install DOES NOT remove your settings or recordings. These are retained in the Adutante and VSLogger folders.
- Refresh the services to check if they were removed successfully. If Adutante and Versadial VSLogger services are no longer displayed in the Services window, proceed to the next step. If the services are still displayed but showing "disabled" – reboot Windows. After reboot, the Adutante and VSLogger services should no longer be present.
- After successful uninstall of Adutante and VSLogger, install in this order, accepting defaults:
- *** Start the service when prompted ***
- If Applicable: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) - vcredist_x86.exe (Downloaded in the step above)
- Adutante Installation: (where you downloaded saved file)\software\Adutante\ Adutante-1.7.0.0-Setup.exe
